TXA (Tranexamic Acid) is a medication used to slow bleeding and improve coagulation.

Function

TXA is used to slow bleeding and improve coagulation by slowing the breakdown of clots in the body.

TXA is administered intravenously with a quick onset, moderate peak and duration.

TXA has no effect if administered intramuscularly.

Usage

The Use Syringe action is available on the Torso and Limbs in the Medication Tab

The Push TXA action is available on the Torso and Limbs in the Medication Tab

Medications require a Syringe to be able to be drawn and administered.

IV access is achieved with IV Catheters or IO devices.

Dosing

Push 1-2g IV, repeat every 10-15 minutes for continued bleeding
