Morphine is an opioid medication used to manage severe pain.

Function

Morphine is used to combat severe pain caused by injuries or other medical procedures.

Morphine is very effective at managing severe pain for a longer period of time, it requires careful dosing due to its effects on the heart rate and respiratory rate.

Morphine is administered intravenously or intramuscularly with a quick to delayed onset, moderate peak and long duration.

Usage

The Use Syringe action is available on the Torso and Limbs in the Medication Tab

The Push Morphine action is available on the Torso and Limbs in the Medication Tab

The Inject Morphine action is available on the Torso and Limbs in the Medication Tab

Medications require a Syringe to be able to be drawn and administered.

IV access is achieved with IV Catheters or IO devices.

Medications can be administered intramuscularly with just a syringe.

Dosing

Range is based on required analgesia.
IV: Push 0.05-0.1mg/kg or 3.75-10mg
IM: Inject 0.07-0.1mg/kg or 4.25-10mg
