Fentanyl is an opioid medication used to manage severe pain.

Function

Fentanyl is used to combat severe pain caused by injuries or other medical procedures.

Fentanyl is very effective at managing severe pain, with the most notable side effect being a lower respiration rate, and with significant doses a lower heart rate.

Fentanyl is administered intravenously or intramuscularly with a rapid onset, moderate peak and duration.

Usage

The Use Syringe action is available on the Torso and Limbs in the Medication Tab

The Push Fentanyl action is available on the Torso and Limbs in the Medication Tab

The Inject Fentanyl action is available on the Torso and Limbs in the Medication Tab

Medications require a Syringe to be able to be drawn and administered.

IV access is achieved with IV Catheters or IO devices.

Medications can be administered intramuscularly with just a syringe.

Dosing

Range is based on required analgesia
IV: Push 0.5-1mcg/kg, or 38-100mcg
IM: Inject 0.7-1mcg/kg, or 52-100mcg
